In 1996, Sam Winchester vanished in an empty room. He reappeared two months later with missing hair, bruises and vacant eyes.

By 2000, Dean Winchester is a hunter in his own right. He travels to Minnesota where his brother now lives with Pastor Jim, a long-time friend of their father's. The thing is, John Winchester recently went into the house that ruined his youngest son and he never came back out. Thing is, Sam is the only person who knows what's in the house. Thing is, Sam Winchester hasn't spoken in four years.

My ramblings: So many thanks to my author, who has been super lovely to work with. She probably deserves a parade after getting stuck with flaky old me for her first ever challenge. *throws a marching band at her* As usual, there was supposed to be more art to go with the creepy deliciousness that is this fic. BUT ALAS. Time and I do not get along. The story will make up for my shortcomings, tho, so definitely go check that out.

After an armed robbery and a city-wide manhunt that results in high-speed chases, gunshot wounds, more dead transgenics, and a hostage situation or two, Alec tracks Ben down to thank him properly.

In the spirit of trying to kick my muse in the butt, I went through my WIP folder to organize and clean stuff out, and found a whole bunch of fic-type miscellany that I will probably never get around to expanding on/finishing. Packrat that I am, actually pushing the delete button has proven painful, so I've decided some of them might work all right as standalone ficlets. For the sake of not spamming my f-list I'll just do a couple at a time.

My ramblings: Whee! This story has a certain vibe to it that I really really love, and SO MANY elements that I absolutely adore. I'd try to explain but my brain is currently cooking with fever and I don't want to spoil anything. Just go read it. It's positively awesome! I wish I could've managed more art, and I ALMOST did, but said fever and illness got the better of me before I reached the finish line. I'll get it done, though! Because I already started it. It'll just have to be late.
