I have been invaded.

A few months back, I found a nest of these ferocious beasts in my backyard:

This is right after I gravely offended them with their first bath.

I had to save them from the evil raccoons and possums that roam the area from time to time, b/c I'd already found one headless kitten (from a previous litter) in my backyard and wasn't keen to deal with anymore of that trauma, thank you. So, then, came the wonderful discovery of just how much fun taking care of 7 kittens is. SPOILER: The answer is zero. It's zero fun and too much work. They're not cute enough to make up for it, I don't care what anyone says.

Okay, maybe they're a little cute enough.

Luckily, I was able to adopt 3 of them out pretty quickly, which left me with the 4 pictured above. Still too many, tho, considering my roommate already has 3 adult fat cats, one of which is a grumpy old-man kitty constantly growling at the others to get off his lawn. I've had friends and acquaintances going back and forth over whether or not they want one, and b/c I'd rather adopt them out myself to people I know than have to put them in a shelter, this means I've held onto them way longer than I should have. And now I'm attached. God. Damn. It.

And still no one is taking them away from me, like they should.

The older they get, the less I have to worry about what they're sticking in their mouths and whatnot, but still. So many cats. I swear I'm a dog person. YOU CAN'T PROVE I'M NOT.

Anyway, now I'm at the point where I'm like, "Okay, self, time to cut your losses and call the shelter." But this whole mess of cuteness is already so wildly out of control than I'm procrastinating. DX

So that's where I'm at on that, and a good chunk of the reason I've fallen behind on everything in life. It's hilarious claiming kittens as my reason for not meeting deadlines IRL, let me tell you. But fandom is more understanding, thankfully. *throws kitten at [livejournal.com profile] deirdre_c* ;D

Speaking of failing at fandom, I'm kinda bummed I didn't finish a 2nd [livejournal.com profile] spn_reversebang prompt. BUT. I decided to give myself a little bit of a break and look at the bright side, on which I've gotten a head start on my [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_xmas assignment. \o/ Not waiting until the last minute where I'm missing sleep and meals b/c I'm in a rush feels pretty awesome, actually. I think I might try it out more often.

And noooow, I'm off to ogle all the pretty art previews for RBB! \o/

Okay, so all you have to do is move next door, give your dog to me, and fortify yourself with Benadryl (or whatever allergic people take). \o/!

;P

Oh, yay! I so hope you get the one you want! Do you want a proxy? 'Cause I'll be there biting my nails anyway and I'd be happy to claim for you.

Ooh! I never thought about a proxy claim - not exactly sure how they work. At the moment I can't decide how to order the two prompts. I keep flip-flopping since I want to write them equally, so tonight I'm making a rough outline for both.

Well, from what I've seen I just put your username instead of my own and state that it's a proxy claim somewhere in there. Sooo, if you want, just PM me your choices (once you decide on an order) and I'll claim them for you tomorrow, quick as I can. If you'd rather do it yourself, tho, it's all good. Totally understand, just trying to help. <3
